Job Description

The Product Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and lifecycle management of L2 Aviation’s products, including avionics systems, PMA components, connectivity solutions, and specialized aircraft test systems. This role ensures that L2’s products meet market demand, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations while aligning with company growth objectives. The Product Manager serves as the bridge between customers, engineering, sales, and leadership, guiding products from concept through development, certification, launch, and sustainment.

Primary Responsibilities: 
  • Product Strategy & Planning
    • Develop and manage product roadmaps that align with L2 Aviation’s strategic objectives.
    • Conduct market research to identify emerging customer needs, industry trends, and competitive products. 
    • Define product vision, value proposition, and positioning in collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Product Development & Lifecycle Management
    • Lead cross-functional teams (engineering, certification, operations, sales, and support) through product design, testing, certification, and release.
    • Manage product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, including upgrades and sustainment planning.
    • Ensure all products meet FAA and other applicable regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Customer Engagement
    • Gather customer feedback and translate requirements into actionable product features and enhancements.
    • Serve as the primary product representative in customer meetings, trade shows, and industry forums.
    • Support sales and business development teams with product knowledge, demonstrations, and proposal inputs.
  • Financial & Business Performance
    • Define product pricing strategies in alignment with market positioning and company profitability goals.
    • Monitor and analyze product performance, revenue, and profitability metrics.
    • Prepare business cases for new product investments and present recommendations to leadership.
  • Leadership & Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineering teams to ensure timely and cost-effective development.
    • Partner with supply chain and manufacturing to ensure production scalability and quality.
    • Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop product launch strategies, materials, and campaigns.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Maintain awareness of emerging technologies in avionics, connectivity, and aerospace systems.
    • Ensure compliance with L2 Aviation’s quality and regulatory standards.
    • Perform other related duties as may be assigned.

 

Required: 

  • Strong knowledge of aviation and avionics products, FAA certification requirements, and aerospace market dynamics.
  • Ability to create and manage product roadmaps and lifecycle strategies.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communicator with ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, project management tools, and product lifecycle management (PLM) systems.
  • Must pass 10-year background verification, pre-employment drug testing, and submit to company's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Aviation Management, or related field required; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in product management, program management, or engineering leadership within aerospace/avionics.
  • Experience with FAA certification, PMA processes, or avionics product development preferred.
  • Proven record of successful product launches and lifecycle management.
  • Must be able to travel (up to 25%) to customers, suppliers, and industry events.
  • Must have a valid passport and driver’s license.
  • Ability to fluently read, write, speak and understand the English language.
