Position Summary: Engineering Technicians in our Systems team partner with Systems Engineers and other technical experts to ensure product quality and support efficient production. This role requires hands-on skill in building and maintaining electronic equipment, plus working knowledge of computer systems and standard office applications. You’ll apply your understanding of electronic theory and engineering methods to perform system-level testing and resolve manufacturing issues as they arise.
Requirements Essential Job Duties: - Conduct system-level testing in line with Integration Statements of Work (ISOW) and directions from the Systems Engineer.
- Collect, document, and store test results (hardcopy or electronic) as directed. Inspect systems and perform minor repairs to address manufacturing errors.
- Act as a liaison between integration (Assembly) and engineering to clarify construction details not specified in build documentation.
- Coordinate specialized or warranty repairs for items requiring external expertise (e.g., defective cables or instruments).
- Assist with system integration as needed to meet schedules or per supervisor direction.
- Perform pre-installation instrument testing as specified in work instructions.
- Identify and report errors in test or integration documentation to improve manufacturing efficiency and accuracy.
- Support Systems Engineers by generating or updating ISOWs, cable documents, and other manufacturing-related documentation.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance, repairs, and ensuring calibrations are up to date.
- Maintain product and process databases by collecting and entering data.
- Train other technicians on equipment use and testing procedures.
- Support team goals by performing related tasks as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities - Solid understanding of electronic theory, engineering principles, and standard engineering procedures.
- Experience with RF devices, testing methods, and related equipment (preferred).
- Familiarity with remote instrument control methods, including USB, GPIB, RS232, SCPI commands, and LAN (preferred).
- Knowledge of electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital multimeters (DMMs), function generators, network analyzers, power meters, and spectrum analyzers (preferred).
- Understanding of the methods, materials, and tools used to build and maintain electronic and electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with design and repair techniques for research and test devices.
- Working knowledge of computers, peripheral devices, and related hardware.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Basic knowledge of 3-phase line voltage, including testing and hookup (preferred).
Education And Experience - 2-4 years experience in electronic test and troubleshooting, or maintenance, with a strong emphasis on RF
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
